Brochs are found in the north and west of Scotland. The first date from at least 100 B.C. They are huge towers, so precisely and accurately designed and constructed that some of them are still standing 2000 years later. They were built to impress, more than likely for tribal chiefs and important farmers.
The world has moved on a long way in the last 2000 years and whilst we would not expect our broch buildings to be standing in the 4th Millennium, we would like to think that they would be impressive for many years to come.
